Nourish Market Dollars Announcement

Market Dollars Announcement

Despite the unseasonal weather, local farmers’ markets have been able to offer delicious produce for all of us. For the past few years, Nourish has been promoting greater connections to this local produce through our Nourish Market Dollars program. This Local Food Week, we are happy to announce that the Silver Bean Café, Black Honey Dessert and Coffeehouse, Tiny Greens, and the Lakefield Pantry will now be accepting our Nourish Market Dollars!

Available for purchase and provided to participants in Nourish’s food skills and civic literacy programs, Nourish Market Dollars promote access to healthy, locally-produced food while supporting producers throughout our region. Originally, the Nourish Market Dollars were used exclusively at local markets and on our JustFood box, so we are excited to have the opportunity to expand the program to include these four storefronts as well.

Nourish Market Dollars have the same value as regular currency, and every dollar benefits our local economy and local producers whether you give them as a gift, use them yourself, or donate to the program. Donations help offset the cost of offering Nourish Market Dollars to workshop participants, sustaining both the participants and the local producers.

Nourish Market Dollars are a great tool for bringing new customers to participating markets and locations who may not have visited otherwise, and ensuring that everyone, regardless of income, has access to local food.
