Get set for Spring with Taste of Nourish!

We can likely all agree that Winter has lingered long enough. But, if the weather outside is any indication, it would appear that we are finally emerging from the deep freeze and beginning our transition to Spring. To mark this transition, we are running a full-slate of free food skills programming throughout the months of April and May. As you can see from the schedule, displayed below, many of these workshops are distinctly Spring-themed. Here is a snapshot of the weeks to come:

  • On April 9th, learn to Make it Homemade by preparing some common pantry staples at home from scratch.
  • April 16 is all about planning before your plant. Plan(t) it! is an interactive workshop that will provide helpful tips and tricks for both the novice and experienced gardener to plan a garden and grow their own food.
  • Next up on April 23 is Cooking out of the Box. A favourite among Taste of Nourish participants, this workshop uses ingredients from the YWCA’s JustFood Fresh Produce Box to prepare simple, delicious recipes while also teaching basic cooking skills.
  • Closing out the month on April 30, we have Simple in Season. This workshop highlights the flavours of Spring by incorporating some of the first foods of the season that available locally.
