Panel Discussion: Lindsay Basic Income Pilot Project
In April 2017, the Ontario government launched a basic income pilot project. Out of 4000 participants in Ontario, half will come from Lindsay. This means that Lindsay is at the heart of this innovative pilot. What happens there will tell us how receiving higher incomes will impact not only the lives of people involved in the project, but also the community as a whole.
Sponsored by the Basic Income Peterborough Network, this panel discussion reveals some highlights from the pilot to date.
Featured panelists:
John Hagarty, Chief of Police
Dr. Bert Lauwers, CEO of Ross Memorial Hospital
Roderick Benns, Lindsay Advocate publisher and journalist
Dana Bowman, Basic income participant
