Are you wanting to grow holistic fruit in your backyard?

Are you thinking about planting fruit trees in your backyard or community garden? Wondering about the best ways to grow healthy trees and juicy fruits? Wonder no more and head out to Millbrook on Friday February 1st, 2013. The Live Healthy, Live Well Project has invited Michael Phillips, a community orchardist from New Hampshire, to come and talk about Home Orchard Basics.

As the following video illustrates, Michael has a wealth of experience. For the past 25 years, he has been growing over 60 different kinds of apples on his farm, Lost Nation Orchard, as well as a multitude of herbs that he uses to strengthen his trees.

Michael will be at the Old Millbrook School (1 Dufferin Street) Friday, February 1st from 1 to 4 pm.  This free event is sponsored by Cavan Monaghan's Live Healthy Live Well Project, Millbrook Community Garden, the Peterborough Community Garden Network and the Ecological Farmers Association of Ontario. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to hear from the founder of the community orchard movement! For more information or to RSVP, contact Andrew at farm@circleorganic.ca
